Brian GAWRYLUK

Brian Dennis Gawryluk, son of Mafalda and John Gawryluk, died peacefully at his home in Nelson, BC on Monday, February 16th at the age of 68 years. He was born in Fernie on July 14, 1957. 
In the early 80’s, Brian left Fernie and settled in Nelson where he remained until his passing. As a young man he enjoyed horseback riding and for a brief time participated in gymkana. He worked in autobody repair and was a talented artist. Sadly, however, Brian’s struggle with alcohol consumed his life and as a result he dealt with many health issues and relationship breakdowns. In his later years he was blessed to find companionship with Wendy, his neighbor and best friend. Together they shared meals, watched movies, and were each other’s greatest support.
It was always Brian’s wish to return home to Fernie and to be buried close to family. You can rest in peace now, Brian. Your earthly battles are over.
Brian is survived by brothers Daniel (Natalia) and John (Lynda) with their families, his stepson Jeremy Hecker, and his best friend, Wendy Miller. He was predeceased by his parents and his daughter Cassie.
